>>Tony - the 'blue-sailed craft' you referred to Wednesday sailing off Peel Island was an Enterprise dinghy which all have blue sails. I grew up sailing one of these single-handed on the other lake. It stood me in good stead for future, larger boats on seas and oceans because the wind used to bounce back from the higher fells of Claife - indeed all along the western shore in the north cubble - so a young sailor learned quickly to react to unexpected and almost instant changes in wind direction. Disclaimer - 'THE WEATHER' is only my personal opinion - when you next come to the Lakes and get sunburnt (or soaked ) - the author of this page bears absolutely no responsibility. You are welcome to copy any of these pictures for your own use, but please credit the photographer, Tony Richards, or add a link to these pages. The camera is a Panasonic Lumix TZ70. Sometimes a nearly new Fujifilm HS20EXR bridge.
